Chinese Systems Integration Market to Reach $13B in 2014

AUSTIN, Texas — A new report by IMS Research predicts the Chinese security systems integration market will grow to more than $13 billion in 2014.

Titled, "The China Market for Security Systems Integration - 2011 Edition," the report quoted the market to be worth $6.2 billion in 2010, with installation and maintenance estimated to account for nearly 40 percent of the total market revenues. As a result of strong growth in the service and maintenance market, the research company forecasts that the percentage will continue to increase year-over-year to 2014.

IMS Research expects that the installation and maintenance market revenue will be more than twice the size in 2014 that it was in 2010.

"An important trend is the increasing emphasis placed by the end-customer on the added value that the software integration platform can provide," says Bo Zhang, a market analyst who authored the report. "In the past, security systems integrators could not quote separately for the software portion of a solution in a tender because the end-customer did not realize the value of the software. As this industry matures, an increasing number of systems integrators are investing more R&D budget in software development to add value to their solutions and help differentiate themselves from their competitors."
